शिवराम और अंजलि, दोनों ही इंडिया, मुम्बई में बड़े हुए, लेकिन यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स जाने मे पहले वे कभी नहीं मिले। वे दोनों एक ही समय पर यूनाइंटेड स्टेस पहुंचे, शिवराम, कंप्यूटर इंजीनियरिंग में अपनी मास्टर डिग्री और अंजलि, अपनी बहन की शादी में शामिल होने के लिए।

शिवराम कहते हैं कि, "हम आगे आने वाले परिणाम को लेकर सुनिश्चित थे - हमारा यकीन था कि, ये भगवान की योजना थी। मैं यूएस में, सबसे ज्यादा आमदनी वाले ५% लोगों में था, और एक स्वतंत्र कंप्यूटर कंसल्टेंट के तौर पर काम कर रहा था। और अंजलि ट्रेवल कंसलटेंट के तौर पर अपने करियर को बडढ रही थीं। मनिपाल रेड्डी मेरे जीवन में इस व्यवसायिक अवसर को लेकर आये। शिवराम ने इसे, शुरुआत में एक व्यवसाय की तरह देखा ही नहीं। वे केवल आई. बी. ओ. को मिलने वाला हेल्थ इंश्योरंम लेना चाहते थे। शिवराम इससे जुड़ गए लेकिन कई महीनों तक कुछ नहीं किया। उन्हें नहीं पता था कि, उनका नजरिया न केवल एक छोटे मे हित से बदलकर, उत्साह और लगन में परिवर्तित हो जायेगा, बल्कि उनके सपने भी इंश्योरेंस प्लान से बदलकर, इंडिया में अपने परिवार को सहयोग करने, एक बेहतर जीवन और आर्थिक स्वतंत्रता में परिवर्तित हो जायेंगे।

"मनिपाल को बोली हुई मेरी एक छोटी सी "हाँ" ने मुझे ये सब दिया ! लेकिन सबसे बेहतर उपहार जो मुझे मिला, वो है मेरी पत्नी, अंजलि हमने कड़ी मेहनत की, और एक वर्ष में हम डायमंड बन गए"।

कुमार ने अंजलि की बहन और अपने साले, अजय और अलका को स्पांसर किया, जो अब डायमंड हैं। और बदले में उन्होंने अंजलि को स्पांसर किया। अंजलि बताती हैं कि," जब हमारी शादी हुई तब शिवराम एमरल्ड थे। लेकिन BWW सिस्टम और हमारी अपलाइन के मार्गदर्शन का शुक्रिया कि, मैं बहुत जल्दी सीख गयी। उनमे शादी करने के ६ महीने बाद ही मैंने अपनी नौकरी छोड़ दी। ६ महीने बाद शिवराम भी स्वतंत्र हो गए। हमने कड़ी मेहनत की, और १ वर्ष में डायमंड बन गए"।

आज वे न्यू जर्सी में अपने ६००० वर्ग. फ़ीट के घर में रहते हैं, जो शिवराम के पुराने घर, कंडोमिनियम से बहुत ही अलग है, जहाँ वे शादी के बाद रहते थे। उनकी तीन बेटियां हैं। अंजलि कहती हैं कि, "हमारे लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है, दिमागी शांति, सुरक्षा और अपने बद्चों के माथ बिताने के लिए पर्याप्त समय, जो इस व्यवसाय ने हमें दिया"।

हम मजबूत सिद्धांतों के साथ बड़े हुए हैं। हमे लगता था कि, यूएस में हमें, एक तेज गति का जीवन और इन सिद्धांतों में से किसी एक को चुनना होगा। लेकिन अब हमें यकीन है कि, WWW मिम्म हमें अपने सिद्धांतों को और भी प्रखर बनाने और साथ ही दुनिया की सबसे बेहतरीन जीवन शैली का आनंद लेने का अवसर देता है। आप भी ये अवसर चुन सकते हैं, और सफल हो सकते हैं।

Kumar and Anjali grew up in Mumbai, India, just a few miles apart, but they did not meet until they moved to the United States. They arrived in the U.S. in the same year, Kumar to pursue his master’s degree in computer engineering, and Anjali to attend her sister’s wedding. Kumar found a job as a computer consultant, and Anjali stayed on to develop a career in the travel field. Kumar did not even see this as a business at first; he was just interested in the health insurance offered to IBOs. Kumar signed up, but did not do much with the business for several months. Little did he know, that not only would his attitude change from mild interest, to skepticism, to curiosity, to excitement, to total commitment, but that his dreams would upgrade from health insurance to include supporting his family back in India, a better living standard, and complete financial freedom. "My little ’yes’ to Manipal gave me all that! But the best gift I got is my wife, Anjali." Kumar sponsored Anjali’s sister and brother-in-law, Ajay and Alka Ohri, now Diamonds, who in turn sponsored Anjali.
